Get your gums cleaned up and check for any dental issues.
Service Description
A dental checkup and cleaning is the foundation of a healthy smile. In our office, we take a personalized approach: every part of your visit—from the professional cleaning to the final exam—is performed directly by our dentists. This ensures you receive expert clinical oversight during every minute you are in the chair. 1. The Professional Cleaning The visit begins with a thorough cleaning to remove plaque and tartar (calculus). Even with excellent brushing and flossing at home, tartar can build up in hard-to-reach areas and can only be removed with professional dental tools. Because our dentists perform the cleaning themselves, they are able to closely monitor the health of your enamel and gums as they work. They will gently clear away buildup and finish with a professional polish to remove surface stains, leaving your teeth feeling smooth and refreshed. 2. Detailed Clinical Exam Once your teeth are clean, the dentist performs a comprehensive examination. Since they have just spent time cleaning your teeth, they already have a deep understanding of your unique oral anatomy. They will check: Existing Dental Work: Ensuring current fillings, crowns, or bridges are still intact. New Concerns: Looking for any early signs of decay or "soft spots" in the enamel. Bite and Jaw Health: Checking how your teeth meet and ensuring there are no signs of grinding or jaw strain. 3. Gum Health Assessment Healthy gums are the foundation of healthy teeth. The dentist will check for any signs of redness, swelling, or recession. By measuring the space between your teeth and gums, they can ensure you aren't showing early signs of gingivitis or gum disease. 4. Digital X-Rays (As Needed) If it has been a while since your last visit, we may take digital X-rays. These low-radiation images allow the dentist to see between the teeth and under the gum line to catch potential issues before they cause pain or require more extensive treatment. 5. Personalized Oral Health Plan The visit concludes with a one-on-one conversation. Your dentist will discuss their findings and offer tailored advice on your home care routine. Because we believe in "co-discovery," we want you to feel fully informed and empowered to make the best decisions for your long-term smile.
