Meet Dr. Roy Petras...
Dr. Roy Petras was born and raised in South Windsor, Ontario. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Windsor before moving to London to attend the University of Western Ontario for dental school. After earning his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree, he returned to Essex County and settled in Amherstburg. He has lived and raised his family in Amherstburg for the past 45 years, staying committed to the community and watching the town grow over the decades. He chose to return to this region to be close to his roots and contribute to the health of the community he calls home.
In his professional career, Dr. Petras has served as a general dentist for over 40 years. He reached a major milestone in the late 1980s when he purchased his own dental practice and the building it is housed in. Since then, he has steadily grown the practice, modernizing equipment and expanding the team to support the needs of Amherstburg’s residents. Dr. Petras is well-known for his caring and happy nature. He uses his naturally positive personality to help nervous patients feel at ease during their visits. Because he has practiced in the same location for so long, he often treats several generations of the same families, maintaining a steady and honest approach to patient care.
Outside of the office, Dr. Petras focuses his time on his family. He and his wife raised their three sons in Amherstburg, and he views their success as his most important accomplishment. Today, his family has grown even further, and he is the proud grandfather of three girls. He stays active in his role as a grandfather and enjoys spending time with his grandchildren whenever possible. Having lived in the same community for 45 years, he has developed strong connections with his neighbors and fellow residents. He is known in the area as both a long-term professional and a dedicated family man. His life in Amherstburg represents a balance between a long-standing dental career and his cherished roles as a father and grandfather.

Dr. Dennis Petras is a general dentist who has been a long-time resident of Amherstburg, having lived and worked in the community for over 25 years. He completed his dental education to earn his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree before choosing to establish his professional roots in Essex County. Over the past two and a half decades, he has remained dedicated to the local area, watching the community grow while providing consistent dental care to its residents. His long-term commitment to Amherstburg reflects his desire to support the health and well-being of the families in the region he calls home.
In his professional career, Dr. Dennis practices at Petras Family Dental alongside his dedicated colleagues. He manages a wide range of clinical duties, and helps run the adminstrative and technical side of the practice. Dr. Dennis is widely recognized by his patients for his thorough, attentive, and highly positive nature. He enjoys treating individuals of all ages, comfortably managing the dental needs of everyone from young toddlers experiencing their first visits to long-time senior patients. His patient-focused approach ensures a welcoming and reliable environment for families seeking long-term oral health care.
Outside of his clinical responsibilities, Dr. Dennis focuses on his deep connections to the Amherstburg community and his life with his family. Having spent the majority of his years in the town, he has developed strong relationships with his neighbors, patients, and fellow residents. Many know him from his early years going to Anderdon Public School, General Amherst High School and playing hockey, baseball and soccer on local Amherstburg teams. He balances his active role at the practice with family life, enjoying the local community aspects that Amherstburg offers. He is well-known in the area as a stable, trusted professional and a dedicated community member. His decades of service and residence represent a life well-balanced between a successful dental career and a strong commitment to his home town.

Meet Dr. Sandra Frederick...
Dr. Sandra Frederick is a general dentist who proudly serves the Amherstburg community as a core member of the Petras Family Dental team. She completed her extensive dental education and clinical training to earn her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree, later joining the practice to work alongside her dedicated colleagues. As an active member of the Ontario Dental Association, she is committed to maintaining the highest standards of modern patient care. Dr. Sandra was born and raised in Sterling Heights, Michigan, with close familial ties to Mexico, as well. Dr. Sandra and Dr. Dennis got married in 2013, and Dr. Sandra moved to Amherstburg with Dr. Dennis in 2015. Her presence in the office brings a valuable dynamic to the local area, allowing her to establish deep professional roots in the community she serves.
In her clinical practice, Dr. Sandra provides comprehensive general dentistry, including restorative procedures, cosmetic crowns, bridge work, and routine extractions. She is widely recognized by patients for her thoroughly caring, patient, and approachable nature. A unique asset to the practice, Dr. Sandra is completely fluent in Spanish, which allows the office to provide clear communication, barrier-free consultations, and comfortable care for Spanish-speaking families in the region. Her detail-oriented approach and naturally warm personality help put even the most anxious patients at ease during their treatment.
Outside of the dental clinic, Dr. Sandra focuses her time on her family life and professional development. Dr. Sandra and Dr. Dennis She balances a busy practice schedule with managing her family commitments, enjoying everything the close-knit Amherstburg community has to offer. She is well-regarded in the area as a trusted, highly skilled professional and a dedicated family woman. She enjoys spending time donating her care and services to local Catholic organizatrions. Her role at the practice represents a perfect balance between a progressive career in dental medicine and a strong, meaningful commitment to her family and the local residents she cares for every day.
